英字紙も最終的には記事によっては読めるくらいにしたいものだね。 少々しらない表現があっても、大体の内容が(教育的な)推測で 分かるくらいに、頭から読んでいって、英語の流れに慣れてゆくように スラッシュ読みとか、パラグラフリーディングから少しずつやってゆけば できるようになると思う。 0049実習生さん2008/12/29(月) 23:55:31ID:UqpHWA+Z>>44 The smaller class size, the better, of course. I hope that will happen in the near future.
I think you can let students recognize English structures without really using grammatical terms. All they should do is learn example sentences by heart. It doesn't have to be named like "present perfect," but learning sentences such as "Have you ever seen a lion?" " Yes, I have. I have seen one in a zoo." will naturally help them come to use the expression.
0054実習生さん2008/12/30(火) 14:42:09ID:d/RZTeXP What really matters is how we let our students enjoy learning the language. To read more, listen more, speak more and surely write more is everything when we want to improve our skills of English, as you might all agree. What are most of the children doing in school? They are just translating English passages into Japanese sometimes without even reading them aloud. What are most of the teachers doing in school? They are just correcting the way their students translate English passages into Japanese.
0060実習生さん2008/12/30(火) 17:56:36ID:d/RZTeXP What do I think about the educational policy which they say did not go well? From my understanding, it was an antithesis of 1. cramming too much knowledge 2. one way teaching-style (no interaction among students, nor teachers and students) 3. the lack of opportunity to give presentation on students’ part because of the combination of No.1 and No.2. The idea itself was fine and teachers should go on managing their classes that way. 0061実習生さん2008/12/30(火) 17:59:59ID:d/RZTeXP You will be good at what you really enjoy. Is it so low? It is a sheer pleasure to understand someone from a different culture and make you understood. I'm sure no one can deny it. 0062実習生さん2008/12/30(火) 18:04:19ID:d/RZTeXP Repeating, overlapping, shadowing are all very efficient when you try to learn the rhythms and intonation. Nothing is wrong with doing those activities.
今手元に、 「Individual Differences & Universals in Language Learning Aptitude」 (Karl C. Diller, Editor)があります。少し古いけど、神経言語学の知見を顧慮し 今から考えても非常に科学的な態度のものです。クラシェンなどの論文も載せている ものです。
そこで、クラシェンは次のように言っています。 The bad language learner There seem to be three sorts of bad language learners. The very worst has neither acquisition going for him. This might be a result of both attitudinal factors (lack of interest in the target language and its speakers and/or self-consciousness, high anxiety, etc.) as well as low aptitude or interest in grammar. The second language student who seems to get nothing from the class or the natural environment may be of this sort (the "remedial ESL" student).
ここでは、そういう妄言が多すぎるようです。 もう少し、まともな話にしたいと思いますが、いかがでしょうか。 0069実習生さん2008/12/30(火) 20:55:03ID:d/RZTeXP I’m not a specialist on the acquisition of the primary language and the second language as you seem to be, but I believe everyone can learn another language just like they do their mother tongue, of course not as skillfully as their primary language, though. You seem to call ordinary people all kinds of names such as monkeys! , but it is amazing how ordinary people can acquire their first language in their first two years, when it comes to structures, sounds they make by using their teeth and tongue and breathing, and rhythms which are particular to the language. You seem to be a scholar and probably have a very high IQ but ordinary people can use the language as freely as you do (, which you may strongly object to). In the same way, they can acquire another language and start being able to do things such as running some errands, asking for directions, or giving lectures if they try hard. Are you talking about aptitude? Everyone has some aptitude to learn their first language and also their second language, if they are given opportunity to listen, read, speak, write another language.
>>63 If you want me to do it, you start talking about the market and the government.
0074◆yk/JpL/Z9U 2008/12/31(水) 17:44:48ID:D2fb9fP9>>69 >I believe everyone can learn another language just like they do >their mother tongue, of course not as skillfully as their primary language, though.
>In the same way, they can acquire another language
0083実習生さん2009/01/01(木) 15:14:56ID:rwTtaxwz Not such a great speaker, but I speak some English. How did I learn English? It's easy. I read a lot, write a lot, speak alot and listen to a lot of English every day. The balance is really important. When you discover the same expressions you have listened to in a book or essays, you go "Ah! Right! I know this word because I heard it from the news!" Those four skills are all closely interwined and your command of the language will keep improving only when you get the almost same dose of them. You should have a healthy diet wherever you are in or outside class. 0084実習生さん2009/01/01(木) 15:36:38ID:v22KVUcB まず、母語を学ぶときに不可欠だったことは第二言語を 学ぶときにも大事という根拠がわからない。
