最後に参考にしたのは

手順に従い/etc/samba/smb.confの内容を書き換えたのですが既にに削除してしまって確認できない状態です

最終的にブログ内の手順でsambaの設定が完了したのち再起動せよとあるので
/etc/init.d/smbd restartを実行しましたが起動、再起動とも受付ない状態でした

現在は/etc/samba/smb.confを含めてファイルを削除した後
再インストールしたのですがインストール直後のステータス確認画面で
エラーが出ている状態です
linuxmint@linuxmint-desktop:~$ samba --version
samba: error while loading shared libraries: libcliauth.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
