でもその後でスペシャリストとして花開き、
一度消えた後でまた復活して銅メダル。

紳士だったよ。

彼は吊り輪の力技の革命をしたと思う。
中水平（静止）から上水平（静止）そこからさらに伸腕伸身力倒立に
もって行くのを初めて見たときは信じられなかった。
体操経験者ならわかると思うが、あの連続技は塚原選手が初めてやった
月面宙返りと同じで想像の域を超えていた。
また、振動から力技に持ち込むときのさばき方が素晴らしいですね。
なにしろ全く微動だにしないのですから。

８７年の世界選手権に出ているのを見たことがある。このとき
初めてイタリアの「ケキ」という選手を知った。
このとき、つり輪の演技で

振り上がり十字倒立（静止）→ゆっくり降ろして上水平（静止）→
ゆっくり降ろして十字懸垂（静止）

という力技の連続をやっていた。
当時は、こういう力技の連続をやる選手はほとんどいなかった。
「まだ若そうなのに非常に力の強い選手だな」と強く印象に残ったので
よく覚えている。
