One interesting, though even less obvious symbolism is in the Devil's being
represented with the ears of an ass, a mythological reference pointing toward
a sexual interpretation of the card.
1つ興味深いことは、さらに明確な象徴主義ではないが、ロバの耳と共に象徴化されている
「悪魔」の存在の中に、カードの性的な解釈についての神話の参照がある。

Priapus was the Roman God of the phallus, to whom the ass was traditionally
sacrificed. (*139)
「プリアーポス」は、男根の「ローマ神」であり、彼にはロバが伝統的に捧げられた。(*139)

(Readers will note that it is virtually impossible to make this statement without
seeming to intend a bad pun).
（読者は、悪い駄洒落を意図しているように見ることなく、これを述べることは、事実上
不可能であることに気づくだろう）。

ゴールデン・ドーン系の「15:悪魔」像のデザインは、基本部分はレヴィ氏の「メンデスの
バフォメット」すなわち、雄山羊の身体をベースにして、犬と牡牛とロバを合成した頭部を
持つ神像となっています。
ちなみに、「bad pun／悪い駄洒落」というのは、もはや改めて言うまでもないことですが、
「男根」に捧げられる「ass/ロバ、もしくは尻の穴」という、アッー！な関係のことを述べて
いるわけですよね。
