米空軍のUFO（UFOB）の定義は以下の通りです。

・Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOB) relates to any airborne object which by performance,
aerodynamic characteristics, or unusual features, does not conform to any presently known
aircraft or missile type, or which cannot be positively identified as a familiar object.

UFOとは空力特性などにおいて現在までに知られている航空機やミサイルに合致しない空中物体
（ただし気球や鳥などを除く）のこと。だから原因不明ではないということ。

もっと踏み込むと、航空力学等に明確に反する空力特性を有する飛行物体。

米軍からすれば、そんなものはこの地球には存在しないという認識ですよ。
しかしそんなものが実際にたくさんあるわけです。さあ、困った、困った、ということ。
