I enjoyed BJJ, I was practicing it for some time, but the reason
I had abandonned it is resumed in one word: "Gracies".
I have found them: not very honest, cocky, aggressive, attributing
all the awards to themselves. Never heard them saying:
"Thank you" to Tsunetane for inventing the triangle choke.

IMO, the leg grab was not in the judo tradition, it was an imported technique from wrestling and sambo and kurash,
and is not for the benefit of developing and promoting technical judo.

新井は女子代表で一人だけメダル取れないでやんの
2015年の大会でも同じことやらかして、翌年のオリンピックには結局出れなかった
これで新添にもチャンスが出てきたな

全日本実業柔道個人選手権大会から講道館杯までの48日間、体作りと相手の研究をし準備をしました。うまくいかない期間が多く心が折れそうになりましたが、
いつも応援してくれる会社の方、家族、練習中や終わってからもたくさん稽古を付けていただいたコーチや先輩、後輩、色々な方のおかげで柔道をしているということを思い、
最後までやり切ることを目標に試合をしました。二回戦で負け、結果で返すことができず悔しいです。しかし、このようなたくさんの応援の中で試合することができ、
感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです。

Ya, I definitively understand how bitter this must feel. She sacrificed quite a bit to represent Canada specifically to compete in Tokyo. I don’t think Klimkait would have had much of
a chance under the original selection plan.
However, ultimately, how do you not send the defending world champion when worlds were less than two months before the Olympics?
It just really sucks that Canada has two world champions *ever* in Judo and they fight in the same weight class and are one year apart.

But this kind of comment makes me piss off ... Dechuchi didn't sacrifice anything, she even got alot exemptions from Judo Canada. She has nothing Canadian in her, except her father.
FIY it is her fault that the selection policy has changed, because she trains and is based in Japan. Judo Canada asked Deguchi to come to Canada right after the Antalya GS,
so that they could both do the quarantine and preparation time.

And ... she refused, and Judo Canada proposed to both of them to use the World Championships as a qualifying event, both accept ...

And the fact, the Deguchi's level is not top this year, his defeat against Eteri Liparteliani at GS Tbilisi year had put me in doubt about his level and not sure
Deguchi would have won the 2 of 3, the last fight between the two is a DQ for Klimkait...

カナダの代表選考はかなりタフだ
東京オリンピックではクリスタが出場するとみんな思っていたけど、
最後に大ドンデン返しを喰らった
今回もそうならないとも限らないよ
クリスタが代表になるためには、来年5月に開催されるかもしれない
世界選手権でクリムカイトを上回る必要が出てくる
世界選手権が開催されなかったら、来年6月時点の世界ランキングで
クリムカイトより上位に位置していなければならない
クリスタは強い時と弱い時の落差が大きい
去年の世界選手権やGS東京、今回のマスターズとあっけなく敗れる
一方で、クリムカイトは出場する大会で常に3位以内に入るので
安定感を有している
