ひと昔前まではWRは２年目からみたいな感じがあった。

ランドリーの年にエヴァンス、OBJ、ベンジャミン、ワトキンスあたりがルーキーから大活躍して
以降あまりそう言われなくなったような気がする。

将来の主軸となることを見越して王道を歩ませるべきなんじゃないかってこと。

ルーキー時、タンシルはGに回されたし、ミンカは決まったポジションのないただの便利屋だった。

こんな定見のない使い方をすれば当然開花は遅くなるし、選手のチーム不信も高まり、
互いにとってプラスは一つもないよなあ…。

1年目にOGで経験を積ませる育成ルートはテンプレの王道じゃん

ミンカは複数ポジが売りのDBで同期のダーウィン・ジェームスはそれを上手くやってた
ミンカは1年目から即プロに適応出来なかっただけじゃね
移籍先のPITもポジションにこだわらず色々やらせるんだぞ

過去の惨状からフロントやコーチに問題があったことは同意だけど、その意見は無理矢理叩きたいだけにしか見えない

やっぱりある程度気持ち良くプレーさせてあげないといけないのかな。

昨シーズンPITのD#スタッツがミンカ加入後に露骨に向上したので
PITのD#スキームとの相性が良かったんでしょうね
Sに専念できたのも彼にとっては希望通りだったので

ただ、今シーズンPITのD#は諸事情によりミンカに複数ポジをやらせるようです
それに対してミンカは
「俺はチームの勝利のためならどのポジションでもやる、LBやCBだってやるぜ」
って言ってます（ >>704 ）

MIAファンからすれば「オイオイ、どの口が言ってんだよ」ってなりますけどw
ようするにミンカとMIAは相性が悪かったってだけですのようですね

タンシルはルーキー年の時、LTにベテランのアルバートさんがいました
彼がOLユニット全体のまとめ役とタンシルのメンターにもなってくれてたようです

タンシル本人は、慣れないLGをやりつつ
「とても勉強になる、いま俺たちOLユニットはめっちゃいい雰囲気なんだ」
ってコメントをしていましたね

昨シーズンのW12、DET@WASをフルゲームで見ているんですが
Ereck Flowers
198cm 149kgの巨体でプルして逆サイドまで走る姿が俊敏で速い
ダンブロも手抜き無し
ランブロ強し、パスプロもトイメンDLのブルラッシュをしっかり吸収
細かいところを言い出したらキリがないんですが
この試合の出来に関しては
RGの Brandon Scherff と遜色無いように見えます

DETのC Graham Glasgowもスタメン出場しています
MIAはこの選手もFAで獲得を目指していましたが
DENに競り負けました（４年契約 apy11M）

彼はミシガン大でCとGでプレー
2016年3巡95位でDETに指名されてプロ入り

DETでは16年途中から17年までLGでスタメン、18年19年はCでスタメン
そして今シーズンDENでスタメンRGとして起用されるようですね

もしMIAが彼をゲットできていれば
LGフラワーズ、Cカラス、RGグラスゴーという強力な３人
頼れる中堅 IOLトリオになっていたはずですが、残念でした

チームはまだディーターに期待していると思います
昨年新人ながらMIAのOLで一番多くのスナップ数を経験したキャリアは貴重です
２年目の今年、あるいは３年目の来年いきなり覚醒するかもしれませんし
控えに回ったとしてもスタメンが怪我する可能性があるので彼がいるのは心強いはずです

今シーズン、ディーターはCを練習しているようです
NEからFAで来た新スタメンCのカラスは１年契約ですからね
UDFA新人の Donell Stanley もCでなかなか評価が高いようなので強敵になりそうです

同期のカルホーン、新人のハント、キンドリーらともRGで激しい競争となります
もしハントがRTでスタメンとなればデイビスがRGに回ってくるかもしれませんし
競争が激しいのは良いことですね

Per the league’s memo,
there will be protocols in place to help reduce the risk of viral spread.
That includes reconfigured locker rooms to keep players ~6 feet apart,
disinfected gear after each game, and mandatory masks,
unless they get in the way of “athletic activities.” Once they report to camp,
players will be required to wear masks for all non-football-related activities.
The memo also indicates a 15-player max in weight rooms at a given time.

ジョーダンハワードが出場してる昨シーズン全試合のハイライトを見ました
改めてすごく良いRBですね（しかしPHIのOLランブロックが凄かった…）

ブリーダも良いRBなので怪我や故障がなければ期待できそうなんですが
今シーズンはOTA未実施（ミニキャンプも未実施）
プレシーズンゲームが２試合に縮小
MIAはOCが代わったうえにOLのスタメンがほぼ総入れ替えになるので
夏キャンプとプレシーズン２試合だけで仕上げるのは無理でしょう…

てか夏キャンプやシーズンに入ってから
チーム内クラスターが発生したらどうするんでしょうね
すでにヒューストン大などのチーム内でクラスター発生してますけど…
今シーズンどころか来シーズンですらワクチンと治療薬が無い可能性が高いので
NFL事務局は対処規定を考えてはいるんでしょうけれど

新顔が多いから仕上がりは当然他より遅いだろうし、その前にロースター絞るのも大変そうだね。

プレシーズンが半分になれば、いわゆるon the bubbleの選手がいいとこ見せるチャンスも減り
UDFA組なんて10か20のスナップしかもらえず、そのままポイされる人も出てきそう。

逸材を見逃さないといいんだけどな。

Julian Davenport
is only in his 4th Season and has improved slightly year over year.
In Miami’s huge Week 17 win over the Patriots,
Davenport played well, beyond a gaff or two.
His 2019 overall PFF grade of 56.5 could reach a 60.0ish level given the trend.
This would make him a serviceable starter or excellent backup.

with his play of a PFF Grade of 64.2.
Trent Brown and Marcus Cannon were two big men
that took a while to figure it out but eventually did with the Patriots.
Does Flores see something here?
Flowers is listed as ‘OL’ by the Phins.
Solomon Kindley was drafted in the 4th Round and is listed as a guard.
IF both he and Hunt push for starting roles,
maybe Flowers finds himself a Tackle… until Jackson takes the role?

フラワーズは新人のキンドリーとスタメンを争うレベルの選手ではないですよ
彼は今シーズンMIA OLの中核選手です
怪我や故障以外でのスタメン落ちはまずありえません
基本的にはLGスタメン起用
新人を含む若手OL選手たちの出来次第では今シーズン限定でLT起用もあり得る
（だから球団公式HPのRosterでフラワーズだけポジションが“OL”になっている）
ということを >>786 は言っているのだと思います

今年はタダでさえコロナで練習不足になるからルーキー達にはキツいシーズンになるだろうな
特にOLは連携が大事だから

Jスポでやってる 〜The REAL〜 シリーズ（Amazon Prime videoでも見れます）
「全米No.1を目指すアラバマ大学 〜知られざる2018年シーズン開幕の舞台裏〜」

Episode2まで見ましたけれど、プロ入りした選手が大勢出ていますね
8月のプレシーズンキャンプ、南部のアラバマは猛烈に暑そうでした
これからTuaとJalen Hurtsの本格的なスターター争いなど
Episode3以降で見所が多いのではないでしょうか

練習以外のシーンでRaekwon DavisがHurtsとふざけ合っていましたが
プロではTuaとチームメイトになリましたね

NFLPA medical director Thom Mayer said
the current plan is to test players for COVID-19 about 3 times a week,
isolating those who test positive.
Per Mayer, there’s a 90% chance reliable saliva testing is available
before players return to facilities.

According to NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith,
the union expects to make headway
on overall protocols going forward in the next 30 days or so.
Scheduled start of camp for most teams is six weeks away.

Miami Dolphins star cornerback Xavien Howard
won't face a suspension or any other NFL discipline
in relation to a late December domestic battery arrest due
to an alleged incident with his fiancée,
a league spokesman said Wednesday.

Howard was cleared of legal discipline in this matter in early February
when Broward County prosecutors dropped the charge,
but he still potentially faced league discipline
under the NFL's personal conduct policy at that time.
Now, Howard faces no discipline on both accounts
and he's eligible to suit up for Miami in Week 1 of the 2020 season.

The initial plan for the 2020 offseason
was to expand practice squads from 10 to 12 players. Now,

to allow for greater roster flexibility in the event of positive COVID-19 tests,
NFL Network's Judy Battista and Mike Garafolo reported Wednesday,
per sources informed of the situation.

これは密集でのもぎ取りに強いWRの指標なんだろうけど、的の大きさと
QBの思い切りの度合いに引っ張られそうだよね。

フィッツパトリックも狭いウィンドウにイチかバチかみたいなパスをよく投げるし
スタッフォードも３メンでカバーされてるメガトロンに平気でぶち込んだりしてた。

Gailey’s slot receivers finished the seasons ranked,

Gesicki saw 89 targets last season,

The Dolphins added Brandon Jones in the 3rd-round of the 2020 NFL Draft
— but part of the issue with the lack of depth at safety
is that they haven’t really pooled a lot of true safety players to begin with.
Both projected starters are cornerback converts in Bobby McCain and Eric Rowe.
Jones figures to be a prominent third safety and play in “big nickel” situations.
But there’s still a missing presence of a true “single high” option at the top
— which would further unlock the potential of Brian Flores’ defense.

昨シーズン終盤は
Eric Rowe がSSをやってて、それこそボックスやニッケルにも入ってましたね
そしてシングルハイは Adrian Colbert がやってました

しつこいですがシングルハイ能力めっちゃ高いINDの Malik Hooker を
ゲットできないでしょうかねぇ、来年の４巡指名権と交換でお願いしたいです

コルバートはW13以降スタメンになって安定したパフォーマンスをしていました
彼がスタメンで出場した５試合のうち３試合が勝ちだったので好印象なのと
シーズン最終盤だったので記憶に新しいというのがあるのかなと

W9以降スタメンだったCB Nik Needham が高評価（好評価）なのも同様かと

DTの Zach Sieler と Edge(OLB)の Andrew Van Ginkel も
シーズン最終盤の試合でスタメン出場して印象に残る活躍をしていました

逆にシーズン序盤の9月や10月に活躍しても印象は薄れがちですよね
WRウイリアムスくらい活躍しないとオフの話題にしてもらえません

あと、スタメンは２試合だけでしたけれど
ローテーションでシーズン序盤から最終盤までずっと良い働きをしていた
そんな印象なのがSの Steven Parker ですね
